Project Title:

3D Visualization of Context-Aware Path Planning for Drone Delivery

Project Description:

The drone delivery industry is rapidly growing, and researchers and developers are constantly exploring new ways to optimize the delivery process. However, testing these algorithms on real drones can be risky, expensive, and time-consuming. Therefore, the implementation of a dynamic 3D visualization platform for drone delivery in a skyway network is necessary in order to reduce potential risks and lower expenses. The goal of this project is to develop a dynamic 3D visualization platform using game engines to simulate drone delivery operations in a skyway network. The platform considers both intrinsic and extrinsic constraints such as limited battery capacity, payload, wind, and its effect on energy consumption, providing a comprehensive simulation of the drone delivery process. The platform will allow researchers to plug in their algorithms and visualize the performance of their drones in real-time. It will also enable researchers to test and optimize their algorithms in a safe and controlled environment before deploying them on real drones. The platform would also incorporate a mechanism for collecting data from the simulated drone flights for use by researchers. The platform will serve as a valuable resource for researchers in the field of drone delivery.
