Biography

Mingming Fan is an MPhil student in the  University of Sydney, supervised by Prof. Athman Bouguettaya. His research focuses on privacy-aware IoT fall detection using mmWave radar, PIR sensors, and digital biomarkers. He holds a B.Sc. in Physics from South China University of Technology and previously worked as an R&D engineer developing embedded biomedical sensors and simulation-driven intelligent systems.

His project will develop a privacy-preserving fall-detection system integrating mmWave radar, PIR sensors, and machine learning for accurate indoor monitoring. It will explore multimodal fusion and trust-aware IoT design to support reliable applications in smart-home and aged-care environments.
