Summary
This project proposes a novel framework for creating a sustainable and efficient cloud service market. It aims at providing cloud consumers with the best set of tools to outsource tasks to cloud providers subject to the consumers’ own economic models characterising their expectations of service costs and quality of service (QoS) attributes over a period of time. It also aims at empowering cloud service providers with a novel approach to advertise their services while taking advantage of economies of scale to maximise their long-term profits. The outcomes of this project are far reaching in that will enable large business corporations, SMEs, universities and other organizations within Australia to successfully outsource many business activities to the cloud, thereby providing significant cost savings to these organizations while meeting their QoS requirements.
In addition to RMIT’s PhD entry requirements, candidates should have background in a Computer Science or a related discipline. Apart from the PhD scholarship, a top-up scholarship may be considered for a strong candidate.
