PhD Scholarships for Semester 1, 2018

The scholarship rounds for Data61 PhD and top-up scholarships are approaching once again.  Please ensure that the following information is distributed through your research groups and teams.

For scholarships to commence in Semester 1, 2018:

NSW, ACT and South Australia
There are two rounds. International students must apply to the early round closing 31 August 2017.  Domestic students should apply to the second round closing 31 October 2017.

Victoria, Tasmania, Western Australia and Queensland
There is only one round. Applications for both domestic and international students close on 31 October 2017

Candidates must apply according to the state in which the university is based. Key dates for scholarship rounds can be found online here.

Students need to apply via the application form which is online (please follow the link here). Further information about the program can be found on the (externally facing) Data61 website online at the link here

One key requirement for application is

  • the candidate should make contact with a Data61 supervisor to discuss a research project and have written agreement from the Data61 researcher and university supervisor to supervise their PhD project

Please send your current CV or resume, academic transcripts from all previous or current university studies, a research proposal, and copies of any published journal papers or other publications to athman.bouguettaya@sydney.edu.au. Mention “Data61 PhD application” in the subject of the email.
